Photographing work is so hard. This is the same shot with zero edits… the only thing changing is the position of one light

Finished piece on the work table! I love how these pieces change so much depending on the lighting and it was a nice surprise to come in in the morning and see it catching some morning rays. Time for photographing and crating. #ceramics

First time testing black casting slip with Mason stain at 2, 5, and 10%. Needs development but it has potential… stay tuned 🖤

Thank you Utah State University for having me as a visiting artist in your ceramics department yesterday, and to my friend Ian Hazard-Bill for bringing me out. So much fun experimenting with slip with the students.

2 weeks on blsky and 500 new connections feels like a good time for a reintro. Kinda digging this app and relieved to be rid of the reels and the audios and the grid. Interesting how I know almost all of my ig followers personally v on here virtually everyone is a new connection. Nice to meet y’all!

Though my background is on the wheel, I rarely make pots these days… so making this bowl for the exhibition “100 Alfarerxs Dijeron” at Taller 36 in Mexico City was a fun project. More details about the show to come.

See you at art week in CDMX next month! Anyone else going?

A studio shot from 2024 showing me putting the finishing touches on two pieces for my resident show “flora/fauna”. The composition of floral elements can be painstakingly tedious but the product makes it feel worth it.

These sorts of sculptural forms serve as the frameworks on which I add my burnout castings. Making these large forms and trying to imagine how they’ll transform is one of my favorite parts of the process.
January 26, 2025 at 7:23 PM
Some notes on my process- I source plants from outside of my studio and dip them in porcelain. After they are fired and the plant burns away, I’m left with a clay casting of the former organic object.
