Point I’m trying to make here is that Protests happen when the normal methods aren’t followed. Folks in charge should really allow the methods to work. Politics should be outrageously boring, in a system that works.

Going as far back as you can, the answer to “why did the protest turn violent?” Is answered by a different question, “who showed up to the protest with weapons?” Parsing out details: wooden stick with sign attached, not a particularly dangerous weapon. Tiki torches? Depends on if they’re lit.

SO. Donating money to them is not merely helping a local non profit continue its' excellent work, it also makes that money tax deductible. And income taxes are the main method that the Feds have to obtain Washington money.
