Lot's of misinformation about LA fires. I wrote a book Forest for the Trees, How Humans Shaped the Northwoods) that looks at fire science. Fire is a weather event, like rain or snow, but with a longer intermittence between events.

This will be a real barn burner. Starry stonewort is incredibly destructive, but it is not yet wide spread and there is much we can do to prevent its spread and impacts.

Local individuals and citizens groups (lake associations), partnered with local government are the secret sauce in protecting our lakes and rivers. If you are doing conservation work on your land, or working with neighbors to do this work, you are the solution.
