Matt had a huge day at the annual Brocante event. He worked with our clients, running their antiques buys to the trucks. It was a fascinating week hosting guests staying with us from USA in the region on an annual buying trip.

One of my favorite places Vitré in Brittany. 1 hours drive away in Brittany. The air and vibe feels very old here and timeless. A medieval fortress fairy tale chateau, & 15thc cloth merchant town. With winding cobbled pedestrian streets lined with timber and stone town houses each unique.

Shopping at the Tissue d’Avesnières annual factory sale. A treasure trove of luxury furnishing fabrics. I bought 2 fabric bundles €35 each. Stuffed with 13, one meter lengths. What joy unpacking the haul. Fabrics retail from €120 a meter, the best fabric buy in France.

Cloudy day with soft light, my kitchens echos its past. Timeless scene new season fruit in aged pottery dish glows on the oak table in shafts of light. Living in an 17thc home, I see glimpses, of those who lived here, fleeting & ephemeral calm, reassuring.A fraternity or echo of us who live here.

My antique Australian kitchen table, from my first ever house in Sydney. The 1900s kitchen had never been renovated. This table has moved with me across my life. Restored by a friend when it became too wobbly. Today sitting happily in the deep window recess of my French kitchen.
