Starting EFP 11 strong with an analysis on the relevance, accuracy and reliability of APTN's "First Contact". If I ever worry that change isn't happening I only need to look to many of the conversations and observations students have to be incredibly hopeful!

Another amazing session with @katiewhite426.bsky.social yesterday! Always appreciative of opportunities the district provides on assessment and learning to be more intentional with my choices - the small shift to strength based feedback first had already had positive results

🔄 Grouping students who have IEPs but varying needs into a resource room to be supported by a single teacher isn't likely to offer any opportunity for real intervention. Students with the same needs should be grouped for intervention time. #LeadInclusion #EduSky #UDL #EdLeaders

Google draftback extension is my new AI detection supertool - I've changed my syllabus for next semesters' ELA classes to included mandatory google docs for typed assignments to support "independent thought and work". Fingers crossed it mitigates some of the temptation.

In Sr. Leadership today we talked about the importance of building relationships on a foundation of trust, communication and empathy. As we read through the articles it was not lost on me how now, more than ever in our world, these things are critical to teach as it feels they are going extinct.

Almost a new semester! My current stuggle - how to have value added in-class to encourage attendance while also supporting those who are sick? Anyone having success with supporting an increase in attendance?

Had the opportunity to observe a colleague this week. I always find it so beneficial for my own practice to get out and see what's happening with others but sometimes it feels like it's seen as judgemental or lacks value. How can we create a culture of observation positively?

Socials 10 went awry today - though I didn't complete what I had planned we had a great 30 minute discussion about freedom of expression, rights and what limitations should be placed around hate speech. It was unscripted, raw and very powerful- love those days!

For inclusion to really be successful, it has to be our mission, our ethos as a school. And every educator in the building must see themselves as a teacher of ALL students. #LeadInclusion #EduSky #InclusiveEd #EdLeaders #UDL #InclusiveEd

Been thinking a lot lately about a quote I heard "not all classrooms have four walls" which is so true - learning spaces need to be varied and I want tp improve my practice of learning beyond the classroom - accepting any tips and ideas!

This is a struggle I have too - In BC I wonder if we need to also speak to the core competencies? Thoughts?
Alright teachers, here’s a question for you: should report card comments detail personality traits (kindness, honesty, etc.), or should they be content-related about areas of strength & areas for growth? We have both, but some complained bc they don’t want “fluff” only what they need to improve.

Marking the last of my ELA10 film review podcasts - I always love hearing the voices of those students who struggle to contribute to class discussions

Sr Leadership class this am - nothing quite like cramming a weeks worth of info into one hour, first thing in the morning, to thirty tired teenagers. Anyone else feel like there is never enough time?

Still getting used to all this - admittedly I was never a Twitter user so really starting from scratch!
