My friend, Lauren Ramers, is collecting data for her dissertation on multilingual pedagogy. Please consider taking a moment (I completed the survey in 8 minutes) out of your day to respond.

Kudos to the school administrator who wrote this letter for making it clear to families what happened and who they should blame. This is the way to build a coalition--with a shared adversary and a reason to fight.

Spring is here. I cleaned the closet (donations bagged), cleaned the bathroom cabinets, bought a new vacuum that literally sucks (my floors are so clean), sat in the spa, picked carrots for dinner, and am enjoying a glass of wine and my current read.

The opening pages of this book - wow. The symbolism…can’t wait to savor this…but emails are calling me.

I’m a little late to the game…but this is a must read.

This is a great thread on AI with environmental ethics included.
As someone who has reported on AI for 7 years and covered China tech as well, I think the biggest lesson to be drawn from DeepSeek is the huge cracks it illustrates with the current dominant paradigm of AI development. A long thread. 1/

I am excited to share that Kelly Metz-Matthews, Ph.D. and I have a chapter entitled “Cocreating Complexities, New Epistemologies, and Sustaining Collaboration” in this new volume on sustainable, collaborative, intercultural learning. It was an absolute joy working with volume editor Dr. Ondine Gage.

I’ve been huddled in front of my computer for weeks: 1 revise/resubmit done, 1 new article proposal on collaborative writing done, & 2 syllabi (English methods and adolescent literacies) done. Also chapter 1 of a new idea on paper. Education is really about free labor.

I came across The Texas Signal this morning. It’s a “progressive” media outlet dedicated to truth. This morning I read a short piece about the book bans happening in K-12. https://texassignal.com/op-ed-book-bans-are-just-the-start-of-a-dangerous-trajectory-for-texas/
