Some time ago, I might have cared more. But now, the only reason I care about someone shooting Kirk, is the inevitable backlash. Of course, it would always be something. Trump and his ilk are always looking for an excuse. If not this, it would be something else.

We lost the vote in the Senate to reveal the Epstein files. All but 2 GOP Senators voted to keep them hidden.

And just like that, the Epstein matter is swept off the front page. If it resurfaces, expect Trump to start making many more purely political arrests.

Assad was bad, truly awful. But, I want to remind everyone that among the leaders of 12 factions opposing him, few agree on the best course for Syria and several desperately seek to restore the caliphate (religious rule) in Syria and the world.

After years, decades maybe, I am thinking of switching from gcc and g++ to clang and clang++. Clang compiles faster, produces well-optimized code, and most importantly, offers concise errors and warnings. Gcc hands me paragraphs for every warning and misses some, clang usefully caught.

Yesterday, Pete Sinfield, a founding member of King Crimson, the lyricist that named the band, died at age 81.
