Lawyer. Equal opportunity critic. In awe of my grandchildren.
Whenever I see someone on here posting about “marshall law” I always think of the FedEx commercial where the guy starts talking about “french benefits.

The seven deadly sins:

1. Vainglory;
2. Greed;
3. Lust;
4. Envy;
5. Gluttony;
6. Wrath; and
7. Sloth.

I’m thinking right now about somebody who might simultaneously be the foremost example of each. Can you read my mind?

It’s fundamental to the Westminster system of government. It allows the people to influence outcomes between elections. And a warning: a house voted in by PR would kill this flexibility. In other words it’s a feature, not a bug.

All hail Dear Leader.

Over half of the US population is looking for someone to fight for them. Instead, they got the Democratic appeasers in the Senate. If you’re not prepared to fight for them, they’re not going to come to the ballot box. Are you really that stupid?

I give up. I don’t want to hear any more whining about Trump, handwringing, pearl clutching, or outrage. It’s not just the GOP that’s spineless and won’t stand up to him. It’s not just the Supreme Court. It’s the damn Democratic Party too. Welcome to your authoritarian world.

Spent time today watching Remembrance Sunday ceremony with the King. And thinking ahead to tomorrow’s ceremony here at home. And I recall my oath to my sovereign as an army cadet and again on being called to the bar. My father’s generation offered their lives in Defence of this great country . . .

After two years, Target’s blindingly incompetent management decided they had screwed their brand up beyond redemption and walked away, leaving behind an economic nuclear disaster for its creditors and employees to clean up. It deserves to die in the US.
Your shitty retail job: now with more required emotional labor
"Store employees are now required to smile if they are within 10 feet of a shopper.

They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.

If they’re within four feet, the employee should ask how the customer’s day is going or if they need help."

🙄 Won't stop the boycott, y'all.

@westjetcliamline.bsky.social is adding seats to each aircraft, and charging for the ability to recline. Meantime, in the last 3 1/2 years, no one in my family has ever left or arrived on time. 50% failure rate on connections. My daughter is now three hours late coming home in urgent circumstances.

Andrew Scheer in the media, suggesting that liberals are harassing and intimidating Conservative MPs. Yeah, right. His leader is driving members out of his own caucus. Who’s doing the intimidating? I lay my money on Pierre.

Let’s talk about Pierre Poilievre. The guy who doesn’t like talking to anybody except the friendly “media“. The guy who paid a fine rather than debate his fellow candidates in the CPC leadership race. Why does he avoid these things? I suggest it’s because they would force him to put forward . . .

The words “Trump says” are missing from this headline. Very tired of half-assed journalism.

The UCP has thrown all its eggs
In the oil and gas basket and has preached appeasement to the US. This is the result.

Asinine. I don’t have to balance my budget until I get another pipeline? Alberta has refused to be fiscally responsible for decades. That’s why the heritage fund stands at zero. Alberta thinks it has a God given right to live without a sales tax, and that is why they never live within their means.

Nope you didn’t. But get used to the fact that wherever you go , we got there first 🇨🇦.

Davis Schneider is the guy you played sports with when you grew up that proved himself at every step. And the guy you root for every day.

Completely disagreed with Andrew on a colony wrote last week. This one is very consistent with what I have been saying all along. Any deal on offer from the US right now is worse than no deal at all.

I’m not sure which is more offensive about politicians like this. Is it they think we’re so damn stupid that we can’t figure it out, or is it they think that THEY themselves are so smart, when they’re actually morons?
This reads like a headline straight out of The Onion, but it’s real:

“BREAKING: Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sues
Tylenol makers for alleged links to autism.”

Ken Paxton, who’s been indicted for securities fraud and accused of corruption, is now suing Tylenol for autism.

Today, I submitted 456,365 Albertans’ signatures to Elections Alberta, petitioning the Premier to do the right thing, avoid a divisive and economically harmful referendum, and allow MLAs to vote and reaffirm that Alberta’s future is in Canada.🇨🇦
