Still catching up after some vacation days: But last week, the @chronicle.com published an article from my colleague @franciediep.bsky.social examining how standardized tests impact college admissions. I had the pleasure of producing the photographs for this story.
Want something fun (I hope) to read that's not about huge government interventions in higher ed? I wrote about nerd camp! The story has some higher-ed connections, I promise, and it was a pleasure to report: www.chronicle.com/article/what...
What Nerd Camp Can Tell Us About the SAT
No selective college relies on standardized tests alone to admit students, but the Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Talented Youth does. That makes it an interesting test case.

Back to Bluesky to skeet my way through the ALCS. Observation from the commercial break: The Angelsoft Toilet Paper angel babies are…the souls of dead children, correct?

SCOOP: The NIH is moving to prohibit funded scientists, inside and outside the agency, from collecting data about gender, according to a draft policy I obtained. It’s part of the NIH’s aggressive crackdown on gender-identity research. www.chronicle.com/article/gend...
Gender Data Would Be Off-Limits Under Proposed NIH Policy
A draft rule would bar scientists funded by the agency from collecting data about gender identity, following other steps the administration has taken to restrict research on LGBT topics.

I haven’t skeeted a #Nats game in a lil bit, but it’s nice to see the boys in their navy shirts. It is the best Nats uniform by far.

“Carrie carried the curry carry out to Farragut Square” might be DC’s version of “Aaron Earned an Iron Urn” #dmvaccent

I went to a DC Breeze pro ultimate frisbee game today. I saw a rare play, a “dropped pull”, twice, both times committed by Montreal Royal.

This might be the weirdest Nats game of the season so far.

The new Jagermeister commercial where a bartender is headbutted - and by implication - gored and presumably killed by a magical stag for the sin of serving Jagermeister warm: what lesson am I supposed to derive from this?

Shohei Otani bats like he’s listening intently as you tell a story. #Nats #WASvsLAD

Just getting back on this app after a busy day. A few things: 1) Go #Nats. We are so back. 2) Vida Taco’s downtown Annapolis location is killer. Get the soft shell crab taco.

Why hasn’t Congress impeached Davey Martinez yet? Are they stupid? #Nats

DC’s version of “Aaron earned an iron urn” might well be “Carrie had curry carry out.” #DMV

Sideling Hill in Hancock, Md., taken this past Memorial Day. In my #photography, I try to find images with meaning available in them. And in Sideling Hill, I find a lot of "meaning" available. Like it's crazy we did this for a highway, IMO. This is my attempt to put that feeling into a #Polaroid.

Was about to go to bed, but this #Nats game has gotten annoyingly close.

I'm also keeping the #MINvsSEA game on in the multiview, tied 4-4 in the 10th.
