“Sober but social” -my new tagline
It will still be tv, movie and book reviews, mixed with my odd views on other stuff along the way.
And of course there will be the odd spelling mistake.

Now You See Me, Now You Don’t ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 6/10 IMDb

Another solidly fun movie, the new and the old horsemen work well. And it had some genuinely pleasing twists.

Keeper ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 7/10 IMDb

“Oddgood” Perkins strikes again. Creepy atmospheric visuals help this descent into madness. Not sure if fully makes sense and I had a feeling once the major reveal is made where it would go. Maslany gives another great performance.

That’s season 4 of Stranger Things all wrapped up for the final season.

Again forgot how much happens, the stakes are amped up and the emotions run high but I loved it all over again.

Not a remotely easy listen…but a powerful story that needs to be heard.

The horror Richie has been through and now the hope and work he is doing for others is something else.

The Running Man ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 7/10 IMDb

It’s a fun but little long run. Glen Powell is a fun brooding lead, with Brolin and Domingo give suitable boo-hiss villain roles.
Wright shows his visual flare but it does seem oddly muted compare to say Scott Pilgrim or Baby Driver.

Nuremberg ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

With strong performance’s led by Crowe, for me it stayed away from any grand showboating moments, but still made an impact.

5 years without this smile in my life.

I’m grateful for every laugh, smile and tear we shared in our 22 years of friendship.

Always the missing piece of my jigsaw puzzle.

Predator Badlands ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Okay if you can get on board with the side step to blockbuster territory, then this is a whole lot of fun. Prey was a far better film, but Tratchenberg has opened up the world in a way that others have wanted to and failed.

3 things from tonight’s night out (sober still btw)

1. Watching a guy lick people’s leather boots in public and then snog other guys was a little ick for me!
2. I hope the guy who really badly face planted the floor outside Rev’s De Cuba is okay.
3. When will I not be invisible to men I fancy.

The Choral ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Bennett’s script is very Bennett, but that means you are in for a solidly entertaining film which is filled with character. No one out shines anyone, which is not a bad thing.

Frankenstein ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Visually stunning, but from Del Toro I would expect no less. The story tweaks didn’t always land, but the cast were great.

Relay ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Decent slow burn thriller, with a believable central due. Ahmed is given little say at times, but makes you care about his character. If it’s let down by anything is final act that could have been thrilling but feels a little flat.

Bugonia ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Stone gives a cold but brilliant performance, with superb support from Plemons and Delbis. In this darkly funny, hostage/conspiracy, told as Yorgos Lanthimos could.

The ending while I called it, for some will divide peoples thoughts on the film.

Finished season 12 a few weeks back, thought I posted but hadn’t.

I always felt the doctors abroad stuff took up a lot more than it did. Guess that’s what you get when you watch it weekly. The show is still strong, but sometimes just forgets how to finish of some characters, Lewis especially!

The correct answer! This ain’t her story!
Jon M. Chu says Dorothy’s face will not be shown in ‘WICKED: FOR GOOD’

“I didn’t want to step on who you think Dorothy is in whatever story that you came into this with… [This] is still Elphaba and Glinda’s journey, and she is a pawn in the middle of all of it”
