To be clear, there are way better explanations of entropy if you need one. I'm a little fuzzy on the limits of its applicability in physics, though.
Explain entropy:
Everything eventually turns to shit and evens out—but here and there, highly organized anti-shit emerges producing even more shit around it in the process.

Revenge is not ok. It never is.
Ask for payback or forgive but do not destroy value.

Please say something when you witness vengeful behavior, especially when directed at OCaml community members, regardless of how wrong or annoying they may be on some issue.

I don't quite understand why 19 people downvoted the apology note and nobody gave it a thumbs-up (I believe this was before the PR was closed because emoji reactions are now locked). This kind of mob behavior is not typical of the OCaml community and is concerning. #OCaml

Fast mass transportation in dense environments benefits from constrained and coupled trajectories. That's why in cities, trains work better than cars and cars work better than helicopters (unless you have the sky to yourself, obviously).

Last year, I learned that my birthday is also the anniversary of the first synthesis of LSD by Albert Hofmann (1938). This year, I learned it's also the birthday of Terence McKenna (1946). Is it a coincidence or is it a message from the mushroom aliens?

The idea that we could live in a simulation is amusing but what is a simulation exactly? It seems to imply a distinction between the substrate or the support for the simulation and the actual events occurring on that substrate. Another defining aspect of a simulation is that it's intentional.

Recreational mussel harvesting season for human consumption is now officially open in California! Yesterday, we could have gotten domoic acid poisoning but not today! 🎉

I'm excited to have made a Lazy_with_output replacement of OCaml's Lazy module that captures and restores stdout and stderr. I'm just not 100% sure it will be useful. The goal is to share computations/context-building among several tests of a test suite and ensure they all get the same log.

And speaking of #cannabis, Carl Sagan, writing as Mr. X, shared his perspective on it in this essay included in Grinspoon's book Marihuana Reconsidered (1971). I'd read it before, but it was interesting to revisit with new questions about how cannabis experiences overlap with psychedelic ones.
Mr. X (Carl Sagan) on Marijuana
This account was written in 1969 for publication in Marihuana Reconsidered (1971). Sagan was in his mid-thirties at that time. He continued to use cannabis for the rest of his life.

Ok kids, listen. Promising things is foolish. Promises are unpaid contracts. Why would you constrain your life in exchange for nothing? Just don't. This will increase your reputation and the trust others place in you. And they'll help you succeed.

I'm very happy with my workflow with Graphite. I posted about it a couple weeks ago: dev.to/semgrep/a-gu...
It allows me to manage a queue of changes that I can rework independently. In the screenshot, you can my queue or so-called stack of PRs.
