My contribution to the retro gaming community was this picture about setting expectations.
You can't expect emulator quality picture out of a 240p console that added smearing in 3 different ways, it's just not happening.
If you can accept that, you'll be very happy going deeper into this hobby.

What does your game have for players who are completely uninterested in ranking, status, or acquisition of scarce items?

I honestly don't blame Konami for being upset with how long MGS5 was taking, the game we got is apparently only the first half of what it was supposed to be and it's already stupidly massive. That said, gutting their whole videogame division was probably not the correct response

Diddy Kong Racing is funny to me because SOME of its courses are interesting and inspired and use their theme in interesting and creative ways for cool setpiece moments... and then some of the tracks are the most boring and uninspired things I've ever seen. looking at you Haunted Woods
