Worth noting losses to federal science extend well beyond these programs, e.g., to Dept of Agriculture, Dept of the Interior, and elsewhere. We've lost 30% of our federal colleagues at the USGS National Climate Adaptation Science Center in the past year.

Rebuilding will take decades.
This is the most astonishing graph of what the Trump regime has done to US science. They have destroyed the federal science workforce across the board. The negative impacts on Americans will be felt for generations, and the US might never be the same again.

With Trump running Venezuela, will he raise its tariffs on the US?
Trump: "We are going to run the country until such time as we can do a safe, proper, and judicious transition."

Wondering how wildlife cross SR8 while using the Cascades to Olympics habitat corridor? We checked out WSDOT’s super cool new underpass on a tributary of Wildcat Creek near Elma. This had been a useless culvert. Camera traps show wildlife are already using it. It’s just one of many. Inspiring!

It’s tragic that Left Wing is up. But the bigger story is the reduction of Right Wing terror as it moves from the shadows and into the White House.

We had some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.

Despite backsliding in the US, global investment in renewable energy stayed strong in the first half of 2025. This is the energy of the future, and the GOP is letting the rest of the world develop it.

Not how democratic government should operate!

“Nobody left who cares at FWS or NPS is foolish enough to stick their neck out for bears or much else at this point. Sad state of affairs not just for bears but for rule of law,” Mitch Friedman, executive director of Conservation Northwest.
