This whole thread is ridiculously relevant to the climate change discussion.

Actually oil and gas companies are hyper aware of the extraction economics and as long as exploration costs rise in lockstep with energy—not electricity but energy—costs then distributed electrification is an existential threat. Essentially, they know exactly how much is left and are milking it.
