America is beautiful, contradictory, unfinished. I am proud of our country even as we constantly strive to make it better, to protect and deepen our democracy, to fulfill its promise for each and every person who calls it home.

First Afrikaners arrive in U.S. under radically redrawn refugee program
The refugees were admitted to the U.S. after an executive order from President Trump, and under an expedited and unconventional process for the U.S. refugee resettlement program.

So many lies.

1. Afghan refugees were vetted by the same process all refugees go through. No refugee has ever been a security threat to USA.

2. The Afrikaaners aren't persecuted. They're 7% of the population and own 70% of the land.

3. "Assimilation" is their whitewashed way of saying "white."
Q: There are many people who fit the criteria of fleeing persecution. Afghans for example. But they're being denied refugee status. So why such an exception for the Afrikaners?

TRUMP ADMIN OFFICIAL: One of the criteria is making sure they can be assimilated easily into our country

White supremacy is when Donald Trump bans 1600+ vetted Afghan refugees who helped the USA against the Taliban, but proudly accepts white Afrikaaner South Africans as refugees to the USA for no apparent reason except they're white.

Reminder that Trump is pro-apartheid & racist.

After offering up a “zero-for-zero tariff” to avoid a trade war (which Trump refused), the European Commission has greenlit tariffs of up to 25% on:

Cigarettes from Florida, beef from Kansas and Nebraska, chicken from Louisiana, car parts from Michigan, and most importantly, soybeans.

Well, we can safely rule out the rationale that the tariffs are for negotiating a better deal. Never make a threat you aren’t prepared to carry out.

If tariff retaliation takes place, US GDP per household could decrease by $3,487 per year. Without retaliation scenario, US GDP falls by $1,188. Notably, countries could be potentially unaffected or better off with these tariffs (India, Brazil, U.K., Australia).

I sincerely believe that the current administration is not stupid about tariffs, and that they know exactly how chaotic this will be. They also understand that this allows them to dispense extremely valuable favors to businesses--in the U.S. and globally--who will really need them.
