Love to read mysteries and thrillers. Figure skating as a hobby/exercise/stress relief. College instructor.
Final presentations today for a project where students were tasked with doing good in the community. One group helped with a 5K, one did a clothing drive, one created videos for the local library system to promote teen spaces. All of them did a good job!

Yesterday’s holiday task was completing the family calendars. I am not sure which calendar will have errors but I am sure there will be one or more!!

I have a lot of holiday tasks/events happening. It feels a bit overwhelming. Tonight we hosted the one holiday party that will be at our home. Nothing caught on fire and guests seemed to have a good time so yippee!!

I helped with a high school debate tournament on a college campus yesterday. And there was also a band competition happening. And beautiful October weather. It was delightful.

A few days ago I thought I would try food tracking. Yep-all the protein posts got to me. Now? I'm checking out all the labels because apparently I eat no fiber (slight exaggeration).

A few weeks ago, I met a group of teachers from Brazil on campus. I felt bad for them because they arrived here just in time for a major storm that knocked out power to the dining center. Tonight they hosted an event sharing dance, crafts and food. I was so glad to hear their time here got better!

I realize this is not the most important thing going on but I have seen headlines indicating Celsius bottles were filled with vodka and others indicating boxes of product were mislabeled. Those seem like two different errors.

Not teaching classes this summer was a good judgment call. I have needed this reset.

I recall purchasing 1 box of pens and 1 box of pencils in the last decade. I have been cleaning out drawers in the kitchen and office. So many pens. So many pencils. I should never buy these again.

I've adjusted the contents of the CSA order for this week and it feels like a victory! I'm just going to hope this has all worked. I've learned we aren't a 2 bunches of kale a week family.

I have eaten kale at every meal today. And there is still plenty remaining. Glad I picked the small option for the CSA.

When I tell students to pick topics they care about, I mean it. I have very little interest in sports. But deeply appreciate that this student does and it came through in their leadership analysis.

Due to various scheduling issues, I have done a gym workout (weights), skating, off-ice workout and a long walk with a family member. I have no idea if I'll be able to move tomorrow.

Teaching an intercession class that starts the Monday after finals week seemed much more manageable when I put the proposal in last fall.

I have learned today that knowing that Rita Mae Brown writes mysteries featuring Mrs. Murphy does not remotely cover everything she has done. Living in my little bubble over here.

Should I get out of bed? Yes Except…. One of the cats is purring contentedly right next to me and it’s so calming.

Ran a skate program for the first time in four months. Definite reminder that I walk/yoga more than I run/sprint. So out of breath.

I taught this week using the word “equity” Never ever thought that teaching management theory from the late 1800’s could be considered controversial. Topic: Henri Fayol

I am surprised by just how much I loved both of Alysa Liu’s programs. I didn’t really have a favorite going in.

I knew when I woke up at 3 am and couldn’t sleep that I would be yawning while watching women’s short. But seriously-not even 9 pm and definitely yawning.

I love figure skating. I do not love Pepsi products. This could be rough.

Ice skating camera person is a role I don’t recall from the last nationals I watched live 8 years ago. But nice job!!

About to spend several hours a day soaking in all the figure skating that I can handle at the U.S. figure skating championships.

I was going to lead a class discussion similar to a description of a Steve Jobs whiteboard session. Yep- called student ideas "stupid", "ridiculous". Lesson learned? That if I've had a bunch of these folks before they will realize quickly that you are "just doing a bit"

My son just did the the dash to the fridge in the unattached garage for milk. It’s 5 degrees. He’s wearing short sleeves. This is both ridiculous and he’s my favorite at the moment. Because I now have milk for my coffee.
