Single-crystal to single-crystal synthesis of a gold(I)-ammonia complex and H/D exchange in crystallo with D2O
Single-crystal to single-crystal solid/gas reactivity of [LAu(C2H4/CO)][BArF4] [L = tris-2-(4,4′-di-tert-butylbiphenyl)phosphine] with NH3 or 15NH3 gives the ammonia complexes [LAu(NH3/15NH3)][BArF4]....

We are hiring two PhDs on our EU SMOM project for a Sept 2026 start.

The two projects will involve being trained, and becoming expert in, air sensitive, platinum group metal organometallics, single-crystal SMOM synthesis, reactivity, and deployment in sustainable catalysis.

Unambiguous Spectroscopic Characterization of a Gold Difluorocarbene
Gold(I) carbenes, defined as [LAu═CR2]+, are key intermediates in catalysis. Their isolation is challenging due to the high electrophilic character of the carbene that cannot be tempered solely by π-b...
