A very happy birthday to Wakatakakage who turned 30 today (Doesn't look a day over 25). Finished 10-5 at the Kyūshū Basho (九州場所) and took home the Technique Prize as well which was well deserved for an outstanding tournament. Hasn't won a title in the top division since Haru Basho in 2022.

His younger son, Chugo Saito (17), has been approved for the Jonokuchi.
He is the 1st high school student admitted to ozumo since recent rule changes.

Watch it for the victory the first time through. Then the second time watch the lady in the background, that was basically me watching this bout today. Hard luck on the slip for Hoshoryu but so pumped for Kotozakura to get his first 🏆.
