Did go to look into this as well, seems to check out exactly as described here. It's really a gross oversimplification of the situation, completely glosses over the most basic details just to make the claim that the game is tainted with AI, when it's not really.
So in summary about the Deadlock AI stuff, there's two instances cited:
1.) Developer used ChatGPT to find the name of a algorithm that they already had an idea as to how to implement.
2.) Contractor sent in a piece of concept work that was accepted, but was not picked as a final design.

Valve. No steam disclosure. Confirmed by Valve contractors that ai-generated concept art was used for Vindicta. ChatGPT was used to suggest major designs like matchmaking systems.

Had to put my cat to rest today. She was so full of life at her age and then suddenly she wasn't, and her condition rapidly declined. Was in my life for longer than she wasn't, for nearly 13 years. Rest well, sweet baby. 💙
