Civilians in Sudan are paying the highest price.

I join our European and international partners in condemning attacks on civilians and humanitarian workers. International humanitarian law must be respected. We call for an immediate ceasefire and safe, unimpeded access for aid.

Navalny’s death is a stark reminder of the price paid by those who stand up for freedom. Today, we honour his courage.

Together with our partners, we hold the Russian authorities accountable, stand with human rights defenders, and call for the release of all political prisoners.

Trans-Atlantic stability is heavily interlinked with the Indo-Pacific. We share economic, political and military interests. NL is keen to step up cooperation to strengthen security in both theaters.

A timely discussion with @USWPColby @RichardMarlesMP @JudithCollinsKC @moteging.

The Netherlands is committed to addressing security and migration challenges together. The Mediterranean region holds a central role.

At today's round table session, I elaborated on our efforts aimed at countering migrant smuggling and human trafficking, and border management.

Anders dan Rusland claimt is Alexei Navalny geen natuurlijke dood gestorven.

Nederland, het VK, Zweden, Frankrijk en Duitsland zijn ervan overtuigd dat Alexei is vergiftigd met een dodelijk middel. Samen blijven we Rusland ter verantwoording roepen.

Contrary to Russia’s claims, Alexei Navalny did not die of natural causes.

The Netherlands, UK, Sweden, France and Germany are confident that Alexei was poisoned with a lethal toxin. Together, we will continue to hold Russia to account.

This year, the Netherlands and the Philippines mark 75 years of bilateral ties. A pleasure to meet with Secretary Lazaro in Munich and to reaffirm our partnership, including on trade, maritime security, and upholding the rules-based international order.

Thank you, Foreign Secretary Cooper and Foreign Minister Tajani, for gathering colleagues to discuss joint efforts in tackling irregular migration, a priority for the Netherlands. We need to work on enhanced return cooperation, regional protection and burden sharing, and enhanced border management.

Ukraine needs robust and credible security guarantees. Russia must end its war now, and not be allowed to renew its aggression in the future.

Alongside colleagues Andrii Sybiha, Jean-Noël Barrot, Yvette Cooper, and Senator Shaheen, I made clear that the Netherlands is up to the task. 1/2

Great to meet again with H.E. Sheikh Al Thani. The Netherlands values Qatar’s leadership and mediation efforts in the Middle East, including with regard to Iran. A negotiated diplomatic solution remains key. On Gaza, we exchanged views on necessary steps for a lasting peace.

As friends and trusted partners, the Netherlands and Oman engage closely on regional developments. My colleague Badr Albusaidi and I shared views on Iran. The Netherlands values Oman’s constructive role and mediation efforts and stands ready to support.

Good exchange with my #Iraqi colleague FM Hussein about developments in North-East Syria and its impact on Iraq. We welcomed the ceasefire, urging all actors to work towards effective implementation. I also commended Iraqi efforts for security and stability amid Iran-US tensions.

Good to speak again with Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen in Munich. I welcomed ongoing dialogue between Greenland, Denmark and the United States. We are committed to keeping the Arctic secure and further strengthening European efforts within NATO.

The Netherlands 🤝 the people of Belarus.

Very good to see my friend Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya in Munich. Together for a free Belarus and a more secure Europe.

I echo her important message at #MSC2026: democracy is security.

How do we tackle today’s and tomorrow's security challenges? From European security and Ukraine to the Middle East and Indo-Pacific. This will be central to my talks with colleagues and experts in Munich. We are investing in these partnerships to advance our security interests.

The Netherlands condemns new Israeli measures aimed at increasing control over the occupied West Bank. This is a clear violation of international law and brings a negotiated two-state solution further out of sight. We strongly urge Israel not to implement these decisions. 1/2

Shared challenges make like-minded partners natural allies. DPRK soldiers fighting alongside Russia show how closely security concerns are connected. In Seoul, I met with National Security Advisor Wi Sung-lac to exchange views on these developments. 1/2

I spoke with South Korea’s Minister of Unification Chung Dong-young about his policy to restore stability on the Korean Peninsula. We discussed how security dynamics on the Peninsula are increasingly interlinked with wider regional and global security developments. 1/2

AI is moving fast. The choices we make now matter. At Naver we discussed how AI and the cloud can strengthen open societies - and what governments and tech companies need from each other to make that work.
February 10, 2026 at 5:36 PM
In a more contested world, diplomacy starts with learning. At the Korea National Diplomatic Academy I spoke with young Korean diplomats about the pressure on the international order - and why like-minded partners matter. Good to exchange views with the next generation.

From semiconductors to security, developments in these fields matter far beyond the region. I am in the Republic of Korea this week to strengthen our strategic partnership and discuss how cooperation on technology, trade and security supports international stability.
February 9, 2026 at 1:54 PM
