wow yeah the conversation is so much more adult and civil and intellectual here on Blue Sky

jeez

I mean, aren't these the same people who escaped from X-Twitter to get away from the toxicity?

same toxic shit here now 😔

Two Minute Papers is so back!

the last few videos have just been Karoly's original genuine giddiness at nerding out over incredible papers!

it's so good 😄✌️

Scandinavian national news displays the bombed civilian homes, schools, hospitals, dead or abducted children, and other Russian war crimes in Ukraine, every day.

Is this not reported in US news? or does the US president not watch the news? or does he just not care? 😔

what a terrifying thought 😬

there's also a cumulative effect. how do you even learn what a good issue description is if a nontrivial amount of issues and PR you've seen are slop. if you grow up surrounded by uncanny valley, do you even see slop? what is it like to be slop-native?

this is delightful 😄

I've been on here for 6 months

my "discover" feed is still 95% pets and politics, two things I do not engage with

since this isn't improving, I have started using Twitter again

with a heavy heart 😔

I'm still opening this app sometimes, but it doesn't seem to improve. it's a real shame 😐

July 2, 2025 at 2:36 PM
wow, BlueSky really doubles down on turning this platform into a read-only medium

"do not engage with this content. do not reply. do not even repost with your comments!"

are they so obsessed with "control" they've forgotten they were a social media?

honestly this is nearing the last drop for me 😔

did Github lobotomize Copilot today or what's happening?

I feel like DuoLingo makes a lot of tradeoffs in the interest of "engagement"

Yes, with OpenAI Codex CLI, you can add a local configuration file to your project that overrides the global configuration found in ~/.codex. Codex supports a...

good lord the replies to this thread

bsky.app/profile/jens...

and this barely scratches the surface of everything that's wrong in Safari

I'm sorry, but give up already, just build another Chromium fork

even Apple can't do 100% of the work for only 17% of the web users, it's just not realistic 😌
If you write code to make websites (HTML, CSS, JS, Web API, Media) and you get frustrated trying to wrangle your code to work in Safari, which bugs are blocking you? Which existing features would you most like to see improved? If you got a chance to order priorities which effort would you put first?
May 4, 2025 at 5:55 AM
increasingly, the posts here are "do not reply"

I really don't get it

why are you on social media?

go create a fucking blog instead

why would a social media platform even have this feature?

it's the most anti social feature

social media is not broadcast media! that's why it's called "social" 😒

I’ve been Tailwind-sober for a little over three years, so there’s that haha.

Embracing the extensibility of the language through custom properties, CSS shadow parts, and custom state. This is where CSS is going (style queries, mixins). Being able to create a custom DSL for our design systems.

looking endlessly as CSS-in-JS solutions and some of these are just hilarious

"copy and paste CSS between projects"

sounds cool, but the example is not valid CSS 🥴

"More units of slop produced" is not a benefit to the consumer. You do not suddenly have more time to read, or watch (or for workers using slop as input to their work: to analyze, to edit, to troubleshoot, to refine). The quantity of inputs is rarely the bottleneck in any work or recreation process.
April 15, 2025 at 3:37 PM
oh dang this hits hard 😆👍
You don't see readers convincing writers that AI is "just as good." They vote with their feet; the people who believe that AI slop is better simply don't need to buy a book ever again because ChatGPT will generate unlimited books tailored to their exact specifications.

Are readers doing this? No.
