I’m delighted to have six #poems featured on the brilliant @zoomburst.substack.com’s Sixty Odd Poets site. And I’m deeply flattered by his wonderful line drawing. The link to the feature is in the post below👇(Do check out the other poets in Mike’s excellent series)

On the phonograph, the voice of a woman already dead for three decades, singing of a man who could make her do anything. I can remember it now as I see you again, how much tenderness we could wedge be...

It’s always weird realising that people will pay more for a blank Moleskine notebook than for a novel.

It is spattered on the window frame
Tiny mole hills of black mould
It blooms joyously across the plaster
Nestles where it meets the wood
We've tried to scour it off
Fine mists of corrosive chemicals
It remains, patient
Proudly marking
Each dark breath we take

I've started doing this today for National Poetry Writing Month and it was absolutely magical. Hugely recommend to anyone needing inspiration. The poem I just posted was from it.

Sprung from the ground
Arms flung wide
Sheathed in green velvet
Only you know what resilience is
Stretching, splayed, reaching for the sea-blue sky
Dividing yourself again and again
But finding strength in the domination of space
I blink and you are imprinted on my eyelids.
I ache to hold you.
