I’m old enough to remember when our country had a collective reckoning that invading another country because its leader “needed to be dealt with” and for oil was considered evil and looked down upon.

jfc we live in the stupidest fucking timeline

1) Adolescence (Netflix)

Every one of its 4 episodes being a oner is a great starting point to break through the messy TV landscape, but doesn’t even begin to discuss the layers of emotionality the show is able to produce and bring out of its audience.

2) Andor (Disney+)

Andor is easily the greatest Star Wars project since Empire. It’s amazing what can happen when you allow an amazing and accomplished writer like Tony Gilroy to use historical conflicts to play in the Star Wars sandbox.

3) The Pitt (HBO)

Old-school medical drama with a modern twist of spreading a 12+ hour shift over the course of an entire season. The Pitt keeps the characters first with dealing with a handful of intertwined “cases-of-the-week”

4) Severance (Apple TV+)

This show produced like 3-4 of the best episodes of television in 2025. An excellent sci-fi Puzzle Box show for the Reddit era.

5) Task (HBO)

Mare of Easttown’s creator’s follow-up that easily better than the original. DelCo Heat with Mark Ruffalo as the lead trying to stop thieves of Stash Houses all while looking for a Mole? Hell yeah!

6) King of the Hill (Hulu)

One of my favorite shows growing up made for today’s modern times. The show hasn’t lost its humor - or Hanks’s sensible yet right-leaning ways - so it is still able to be goofy yet contemporary. It’s surprisingly excellent.

7) Death by Lightning (Netflix)

Now we’re getting to the good stuff. Perfect Dad-Core show. Entertaining historical drama made better by top notch character actors.

8) The Bear (FX/Hulu)

I understand the Critical rose is off of the bloom, but I found s4 a much needed bounce back after the uneven s3. I enjoy characters I love just *being* and that was enough for me - tho understandable if you felt differently.

9) The Last of Us (HBO)

Its second season was less consistent than its first season with less highs, largely due to the death of [redacted], but the character arcs and world-building are still on a another level.

10) Abbott Elementary (ABC)

One of the most consistently funny shows out there, and it’s nice to have a classic pure-humor sitcom that isn’t a dramedy falsely labeled a comedy.
