📉 Humanitarian data is under threat.
📊 Years of progress in building an independent, diverse, and adaptive data ecosystem risk being lost due to funding cuts.

We must not let the system go dark. Now more than ever, we must #KeepTheLightsOn

Cash assistance💸as Humanitarian Aid flexible, preferred but not always enough
👉 Let’s not just ask what works, let’s ask what works best, for whom & for how long.

Are we really hearing from everyone in humanitarian research?

🧭 More inclusivity starts with better sampling.
🧩 Who we ask shapes what we know—and who gets helped.

To put it simply, better sampling = better data = better outcomes.

1️⃣ Stronger family & community ties
2️⃣ Access to safe, quality education
3️⃣ Safer public spaces

"We are talking about a population being starved, forcibly displaced, and bombed, all at once – and being told that they may have to line up for food in fenced-off zones run by private military contractors." Read this oped from Oxfam's Bushra Khalidi: ⬇️
Gaza is what occupation looks like when it is allowed to go unchecked
What Palestinians are living through is not just a crisis. It’s a collapse of international order, and it's not isolated to Gaza.

#Uganda, the largest refugee-hosting country in Africa, is home to 1.8 million refugees. Despite a progressive open-door policy, the response has been consistently underfunded, now worsened by global funding cuts.

After 2️⃣ years of war in #Sudan, the situation has escalated into one of the world's most severe humanitarian crises 🌍
⌛ It's time for the international community to step up. Ignoring Sudan's crisis is a moral failure and a strategic blunder.

We may never know the true impact of the US foreign aid cuts, since losing the funding also means losing the ability to measure. Some colleagues and I wrote about the threat to humanitarian data. @newhumanitarian.bsky.social
The data streams that underpin humanitarian response are about to collapse
Famine warning, needs assessments, health data: Humanitarian action will be groping in the dark if vital data sources are allowed to crumble.

Saddened to learn nine aid workers were killed in an RSF attack on Zamzam Camp. Relief International lost doctors and drivers—some of the last providing care.

Health workers must never be targets.
