@isotachtics.bsky.social How much rain has fallen in PAB so far tonight (establish start time)? Also, how much did we have between July 1 and October 31, and how much since November 1? #nlwx (You figure out the reset points.)

@kellybutt.bsky.social How about potential wind for PAB and/or Wreckhouse on Friday?
November 13, 2025 at 2:34 AM
@rcbstormpost.bsky.social Started raining here in PAB as it was getting dark. It's going to be a long night, long day tomorrow, and another long night tomorrow.

@bernicecb.bsky.social I am unable to log into my account on the CBC Gem app. Also at the same time, the Foodland app is only partially working (can view flyers but not available offers for bonus points on various goodies). Not sure what else is having issues.

Just got the remote that came with the Technics radio tuner. @bernicecb.bsky.social @adey080.bsky.social

My "stereo", consisting of two components: a radio tuner (usually tuned to one of my personal transmitters) and a dual cassette deck. Not pictured: a custom FM antenna and accessory for the radio, and a series of audio cables feeding from the dual deck to the old laptop and then to a small speaker..

While looking for something else, I found this postcard of the Sir Robert Bond...

I might run this through an HP scanner at the library at some point to make it look better, but for now, enjoy...

Anyone in Newfoundland still have a few of these lying around, whether they are used or never been used before?

@tcmtv.bsky.social A quick note from me to various staff: it's nice seeing some rarely-seen TV nuggets such as "Campbell Soundstage" and "Screen Director's Playhouse", examples of which we would not commonly find in a regular rotation of classic programming on linear or streaming outlets.

@bsky.app A future idea for you to consider: I sometimes make videos up to four or five minutes long. Maybe one day we can post a four or five-minute video to here? (I will not get greedy and ask for anything beyond five minutes.)

@bernicecb.bsky.social A couple of 1980s-era TDK audio cassettes. One a 1985 model, the other a 1986 model. (I also have a 1982 model, not pictured.)

@noirfoundation.bsky.social If I could cast two people for lead roles in a movie, @eddiemuller.bsky.social and Alicia Malone would be my picks. (Let Alicia know about this note.)

@tsn690.bsky.social I want to remind anyone who may not know this yet, but back in 2012, at night, I picked up 690 over the air here in Port aux Basques. It was one of a number of Class “A” AM stations I have gotten occasionally over the years. Others I got came from Chicago (WGN) & St. Louis (KMOX)

I have three short videos of channel changes that were recorded on a 1980s VCR, all of which were off cable TV. Before Rogers and Bell Aliant, there was Gateway Cable. The first of the three short videos is from February 9, 1986, during a commercial for Nissan...

@kellybutt.bsky.social Waiting for the new forecast. Last update was for 11 am. Next one is almost two hours overdue.

@kellybutt.bsky.social How much rain did we get in Port aux Basques last night? We had three power outages, and I spent a few hours nearby at one of my aunts, as she had working wifi during the outages. And as I got home from there, I saw a bit of lightning, but got home safely. #NLwx

@eddiesheerr.bsky.social @rcbstormpost.bsky.social @kellybutt.bsky.social We had a power outage for roughly an hour here in Port aux Basques. Valley still out. Was there any severe weather between Stephenville and the Valley to result in the loss of power? #NLwx

@eddiesheerr.bsky.social Can we get some information on Friday's rainfall totals? I am sure we here in Port aux Basques got more Friday than what fell Monday.

@internetarchiveca.bsky.social I recently posted a bunch of Newfoundland School Broadcasts from the late ’70s and early ’80s, all dubbed off various audio cassettes. I have the equipment for that. And I’m working on 3 more tapes. What I have posted can be found here: drive.google.com/drive/folder...
