“Sixteen Nobel economists are saying that his plan would increase inflation and invite a recession by the middle of next year.”

Just in case it isn’t obvious, the 22,000 jobs added and high unemployment applications are because of Trump’s tariffs, and the constant uncertainty around them.

I’d like to take a moment to thank Representative Lloyd Doggett for his longstanding service and commitment to serving the people of Texas. While this isn’t the way I want to see retirements happen, I appreciate him opening up the opportunity for a new person to take the reins.

I have been up at the Capitol since 8:30 this morning joining in with community members to show support and solidarity with @nicolecollier95. The House Dems who are in State have been organizing food and resources for her as she is expecting to stay all the way through to the convening of the House.

As expected, no public testimony on the redistricting committee. Vice Chair Hunter brought in a committee substitute which still affects multiple districts and had no better answers than “Look at District Viewer,” and “It’s purely for partisan performance.”

I unfortunately am not able to make it for the Senate redistricting hearing tonight. I have left a public comment on the Senate portal for it. I send my strength and solidarity to those who are braving the storm to make their voices heard to the committee.

Since starting in July, we’ve gone 3,000 miles to meet people in 10 counties, all powered by people like you. The sentiment is clear! People want a fighter, someone not bought, and young people want a seat at the table. We’re continuing to show up, just as our elected officials should be.

Just saw that Texas Republicans are planning to sine die on the first special session Friday morning and then immediately gavel in on the second special session. This is the time to show up and fight back, and that’s exactly why I’ll be there to call them out on their corrupt dereliction of duty.

John Cornyn asks the FBI to help in a case they have no actual jurisdiction over. A man with over 40 years of legal experience. Yet he chooses politics over the rule of law. He only cares about power and throwing red meat to his base. We can take him down in 2026.

On the 4th, I spent some time with the Texas Senate State Affairs committee to tell them that they, as expected, are focusing on the wrong things. Trans people are not the enemy.
August 7, 2025 at 11:53 PM
Still sitting in the Senate State Affairs committee. Someone decided to use testimony time to platform hatred. Pure disgust, and only seeking his 2 minutes of fame. I know it’s Texas, but there is nothing Christlike in spewing that against our neighbors.
August 4, 2025 at 6:20 PM
At the Texas Senate State Affairs committee to testify against SB 7 which seeks to increase hate crimes, and will create no material benefit to protecting women. Trans people are not the enemy.

As someone who has a lot to say, 2 minutes is never enough for these testimonies.
August 4, 2025 at 4:15 PM
After 10 hours of being at the Capitol, 6 and a half hours waiting from the start of public testimony, I realized 2 minutes is not a lot of time to get past the idea that this redistricting is a scam. Cracking communities hurts all of us.
August 2, 2025 at 2:56 AM
5 and a half hours in to this hearing, 4 hours into public testimony. Only at panel 5 (19 people total so far), out of hundreds who have signed up. They make the system dragged out to wear us down, but I’m standing strong.

Running on 2 hours of sleep, drove the 1.5 hours to Austin, but I would have done this on zero sleep. Texas Republicans are trying to silence the voices of democracy in this despotic power grab with redistricting. I’m here to fight, and join arms with fellow Texans to keep this government in check.
August 1, 2025 at 2:23 PM
It comes as a surprise to no one that Republicans in the Texas legislature had these maps ready to go within 48 hours of the last hearing. These maps divide communities and suppress our voices in more ways than one. We’re fighting back on Friday.

Texas House Republicans unveil new congressional map that looks to pick up five GOP seats
The first draft of the lower chamber’s new redistricting map targets Democratic members of Congress in the Austin, Dallas and Houston metro areas and in South Texas.

John Cornyn, a former Attorney General and Texas Supreme Court Justice voted to confirm Emil Bove, one of Trump’s *personal* lawyers. We’re supposed to believe that Cornyn cares about protecting this country? We can’t keep voting in sycophants looking out for their own needs for power.
July 30, 2025 at 3:11 AM
Donald Trump has once again shown his inability to maintain peace. He proves that he is completely incompetent to lead. We are seeing the same playbook that happened with Iraq. All this complete with the lack of approval from Congress, yet again another unconstitutional move.
June 22, 2025 at 4:44 AM
Today I stood outside the San Antonio office of John Cornyn alongside Indivisible, and Bexar and Medina county Democrats to voice our desire for our Senator to vote NO on the disaster that is the Big Beautiful Bill. 🧵

Working people like myself who want to create change have to balance personal life with organizing the effort to broadcast their message. You can sign up to volunteer or donate to help fund our efforts to get our message in front of voters. Every little bit helps!

It’s jobs like my day job that really goes to show that workers in this country are not getting a fair shake. Constantly used to protect the company’s bottom line, not to protect their own livelihood.

Today, we remember and honor those who put their lives on the line to protect and defend the free world against rising threats. Their sacrifices for us cannot be repaid. Moving forward, may we honor the values and promise of America that they fought for so that their efforts are not done so in vain.

Plain and simple, this sham of a “budget” bill is a barrel of pork for Republicans. Fitting in the rejection of enforcement of court orders, unregulating firearm silencers… I’m surprised they didn’t try sneaking in the SAVE Act while they were at it. Millions of people at risk of losing a lifeline.

When's the last time you were in a position to accept a Boeing 747 from a Royal family? I don't remember either. Our elected officials should not be causing national security issues like this.
