The A's batted .253 in 2025, which ranked third in the American League…it was the A’s highest batting average since 2013 (.254) and their highest finish in the AL since leading the league in 1968 (.240).

Today marks the second time in Athletics history the A's had three players 23 years old or younger homer in the same game (Muncy, Soderstrom, Wilson). The other time was on June 12, 1968 when Reggie Jackson, Dave Duncan and Blue Moon Odom did it.

The walk-off win tonight was the A’s first in a ballpark other than the Coliseum since April 7, 1996 when Geronimo Berroa hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth to defeat Detroit 7-6 at Cashman Field in Las Vegas.

Max Muncy is the youngest player on the A’s Opening Day roster at the age of 22 years, 214 days...is scheduled to start at second base and would become the seventh youngest Opening Day starting second baseman in Athletics history, the youngest since Shooty Babitt in 1981 (22 years, 31 days).

The A’s Opening Day lineup has three players under the age of 24: Muncy, Soderstrom and Wilson…over the last 56 years, the only other time the A’s had three players under 24 was in 2000 (Chavez, Grieve, Hernandez)…have not had three infielders under 24 since 1965 (Campaneris, Green, Harrelson).
