First time I've heard in an airplane safety announcement that #VR headsets must not be worn during take-off or landing. People wear/use headsets during flights these days? 😎 I guess I haven't traveled by plane in a while

Meta announced this week some updates to the Horizon TV app for Quest devices and one intriguing feature is support for 3D movies. There's a demo of it with the trailer of the upcoming Avatar: Fire and Ash movie. It's like watching a 3D movie in theater. Pretty cool actually.

Bloody hell, the #Foundation series script writers exercised their artistic freedoms too much again. 🙄 Latest episode added some unexpected twists to the original story, again. Looks like the next season(s) is going to venture off the trilogy...

I find it pretty incredible that a thing the size/height of an apartment building can be hurtling down towards Earth from space at thousands of km/h and then just slam on rocket engines for a few seconds to come to a hovering stand still at an altitude of a couple hundred meters. 🤯

Foundation season 3 is shaping up nicely, seems closer to the original books than the first two seasons. Or maybe it's just me. Having read the books numerous times I have my own vision how they should look on film, but so far the tv series has 'deviated' from that too much... 😅

The Matrix is on TV again, must be the umpteenth time I've seen it by now. But still it's as awesome as the first time I saw it in the movie theater in Chicago in 1999. Visited the Helsinki Auto Show today. Lots of interesting new electric vehicles on display. The only ICE vehicle we looked at was a small RV and even that was a plugin hybrid. 🤓 But there's just no way we'll go back to ICE cars anymore (we've had an EV for 3 years)

Price of electricity in Finland today, by the hour, if you have commodity exchange priced electricity contract. Additional transfer fees and taxes apply, but the energy cost is practically zero. 👀 This even when a major nuclear plant is offline for maintenance.

Oh nice, OpenAI #Sora just dropped in EU too. A lone astronaut on Mars looks pretty ok, took a few prompts and remixes to get it more or less what I wanted. Probably need to practice more with it...

While walking the dog today, I saw a fox crossing the path a bit further ahead in the park forest nearby, and when we reached the spot, the dog started barking and howling like a wolf. She caught a WILD scent right there.🦊 Funny reaction, or maybe shetland shepherd guarding instinct kicking in. 😅

This hasn't gotten old yet. 👀Nice catch of the Superheavy booster at the launch tower successfully for the second time, just a few minutes after it launched from the same tower. Wow. Too bad the Starship vehicle blew up this time, new version still has some things to iron out.

New contender for reusable orbital boosters launching soon, in ~30 minutes if no further delays. More cheap(ish) orbital launch capacity coming online, more space business. Good stuff.
