Europe pays tribute to Sofia Corradi, whose vision inspired the creation of the Erasmus programme.

Sofia Corradi believed that learning across borders could build a stronger, united Europe.

Her legacy lives on in millions of young Europeans who continue to learn, grow and connect through Erasmus.

Nobel Laureates on innovation being crucial for competitiveness.

Dealing back on competition policies, it’s an important part of our work when updating our merger guidelines to better take into account innovation and the appearance of new innovative firms.
Innovation is at the center of economic growth. Congratulations to three who’ve taught us so much.

In turbulent times, we may see some trying to move from European ideals of values and a well performing social market based economy towards a race to the bottom short-term-profits-oriented model.
It is important not to mistake. We have the strenghts and the passion to keep building a better Europe!🇪🇺

Just look at what happened with solar investment - it’s astonishing.

Solar has seen the most rapid investment growth, soaring from $142 billion in 2015 to a projected $441 billion this year.

My thoughts are with the Ukrainian victims and also with the staff of the EU Delegation in Ukraine, whose building was damaged in this deliberate Russian strike.

Civilians cannot be targets. Never.

The images from Gaza are unbearable.

The EU reiterates its call for the free, safe and swift flow of humanitarian aid.

And for the full respect of international and humanitarian law.
The killing of civilians seeking aid in Gaza is indefensible.

I spoke again with Gideon Sa'ar to recall our understanding on aid flow and made clear that IDF must stop killing people at distribution points.

All options remain on the table if Israel doesn’t deliver on its pledges.
