I know that at the end of the day, Patagonia (outdoor apparel) is still a corporation, not 100% green (it’s in the book) but I think they’re real in not selling you something you don’t need, and also big on mending their products for you to keep using. I think bike brands should be the same.

As a cuspy Gen X-er and, in hindsight, an ex in-denial hipster, I am primed to spot the cringe. But thankfully I’ve aged out of that and I’m happy to see people find what makes them proud and happy. In this year1end essay, I will—

Super enjoyed Eternity, the afterlife romcom with Elizabeth Olsen, Calum Turner, and Miles Teller. So many moments that got me choked up. Reminded me a lot of the 1991 afterlife romcom, Defending Your Life (with Albert Brooks and Meryl Streep!).

inequality doesn’t look like us living incredibly mundane lives compared to dua lipa. inequality is capitalism not giving us the dua lipa life even as we live normal lives!

I think forest green should be the color of 2026 and my basis for this is that it’s the next color of bike that I want and this is truly my character development because I used to think that green bikes are unlucky.

a really good friend hardly checks their messages (but we hang out often, and with equal initiative) and it’s a bit comforting. like this is someone who sets appropriate boundaries lol.

3-hour mid-day meals with your friends shouldn’t have be because of privilege (but because of having great support for the arts, a healthy respect for creative work, and also walkable cities. we lol but we all yearn for it.).

Potentially great news for me, as a Matthew Rhys fan, and as someone obsessed with The Power Broker, a Robert Caro book I've only read a 10th of, maybe. Cast Keri Russel as the expressway they bulldozed neighborhoods for!

saddened by the death of rob reiner, devastated by how he and his wife (michelle singer) died. many things we enjoy in pop culture today probably reference a little bit of rob reiner's work.
