New part didnt help with no crank issue, by the way.
Photo the third: ripped this bastard out since it didnt do its job of being a starter relay.

My collection of finished 1/35 ww2 tanks (with a few "finer" 1/72's and a really tiny tiger). Need new display boxes like these badly, dont want the M5 or 7TP to get all dusty. 7TP holds extra sentimental value. Got it from my daughter (then at 6 yrs old) as an x-mas gift in 2024.

Been calling these two fellas Pat and Mat (at the very least Czech, Slovak and Finn 80's & 90's kids know) for a while now. Decided to not include them with the Tiger, and gave them a more approppriate coloring to match their names 😍

My first finished Tiger 1 in 1/35.
Toned down streaking, minor fixes here and there, even painted the commander. I'm not that comfotable with figurines, as i just cant get the face details right ever. So i just added deck tan for skin and gave it a dark wash.

Done.
My first finished Tiger 1 in 1/35.

Nearing the point of this being done.
Some minor cleaning left to do, chippin went ok ish, and yeah, i know it prolly should be red brown chips instead of dark grey, but these colors just work together better in my opinion.
Should i make the turret less streaky though?

A bit more of the Tiger 1 progress.
Decals done, panel lines.... Messy and needs some touching up, rust added, cleanup needed for that too. Soot came out nice on the first go though, butnneeds some blending still.
Overall, making ok progress.

Well this is super annoying.
Am i just being dumb here or is this axe just molded as a mirror image compared to the tank molding and instructions? What am i missing? HALP!
Pretty rare though, this must be the first time i'm having even the slightest issue with Tamiya kits

color may not be correct for north africa units, but i just love middlestone with dark grey chipping so i'm going with that.

Had to custom make the tow cable and its ends+fixing points. Added a rope for stowage, and gave the whole thing a subtle rust wipe. #histscalemodels

May need to redo this 🙄 for some reason its always super difficult for me to get the spare tracks look decently rusted, but still believeable. This looks like it was fished from sea in Normandy after a decade or two. Not something they'd have right off the bat.

Also, added some random decals to boxes. And a rustbucket. Need to work on my mini scale writing and rewrite the W for the water canister it would seem. And repaint them both anyway.

As per @dr-robonator.bsky.social suggestion, i did a bit more work on the plank in the front of the Jumbo. I think the thickness (hehe, thicc plank for a thicc tank) and general roughness is fairly close now to the references. Couldnt find balsa sticks or leftover photoetch "sprues", so no brackets

Took a while to get back to being ok after breakup.
Got to building a kit I bought just before all that happened.
Here's my attempt at a Sherman Jumbo.
Still requires some highlights, soot and rust effects, but all in all, I'm pretty surprised how well it turned out
