Two million federal workers received Elon Musk’s absurd memo requiring that they list five things they have done in the past week or be fired. This latest slicing and dicing lacks any intelligent thought or sense of process. And the administration wonders why people are being so critical.

I taught DEI programs for over 30 years, both on the state level and in the private sector. They never encouraged or condoned hiring for any reason other than a person’s experience and ability to do the job. The objective was to eliminate bias from the equation and focusing only on qualifications.

Trump’s news conference today was perhaps the worst presidential response to a tragedy in our history. After a brief moment of silence and condolences,he launched into a tirade of finger pointing and groundless laying the blame on the Obama and Biden administrations, and on the FAA’s DEI programs.
