A question I get from other authors: "Are giveaways effective?" My answer: "Yes, assuming that what you give away is of good quality. Many people will get around to it eventually, and love that they got something they enjoy for free, which can create a new fan. It's a long game."

I love the feeling I get when I had an idea I wasn't at all sure was going to work and, after finishing the piece and reading it back, I think, "Wow, I actually managed to pull that off." Funny how that still happens 8+ years into all of this. 🤣 Never stop challenging yourself. ✍️

My 2013 MackBook Air Linux adventure continues. After experimenting with a few different desktop environments, I've settled on Cinnamon. Seems to have the best combination of features, stability, performance, and esthetics of the popular/common options. Pretty happy with it. 🙂👍

Spent some time getting Ubuntu 25.1 running on a 2013 MacBook Air today to breathe some new life into it. A fairly straightforward and simple install apart from some wi-fi issues I eventually got sorted. Even managed a little Linux gaming via Steam/Proton on the old trooper! 🙂👍

Tried Battlefield: REDSEC and it's... fine. The BR is... okay, if you enjoy BR. Gauntlet is an interesting mode but most play areas feel pretty uninspired, like the random bis of map they are. There's fun to be had, but nothing special IMO. 🤷♂️ #gaming
