Politics is not a game. It involves people's lives. And those making political decisions are not merely in power, they have an obligation to serve. You do not recklessly experiment using power you only steward. Many political decisions cannot be simply reversed.

Seeing positive posts about Carter from some of the very people who rejected and mocked him along very Trumpian lines basically right up until 2015-2018. They don’t acknowledge the bulk of their political careers were spent undermining that which they now extol. They all have malaise now.

Wicked is a total triumph. Best film version of a musical in decades. Absolutely incredible. Only big thing that missed was the fan service with Idina and Chenoweth (loved seeing them, but the whole thing wasn’t well-executed and Idina doing her “Defying” riff was unnecessary.

What an inspiring evening listening in on this conversation between former POTUS Barack Obama & former German Chancellor Angela Merkel. It was incredibly moving to hear these 2 leaders I admire—one I know well, and the other a hero I’ve admired from afar—talk freedom, politics, faith and leadership.
