True thread. This is one of the reasons people who make shows and movies are so fed up with these studios.
They used to offer a lot! Money, marketing, distribution, space, "access", on and on. Now? Just money (and not as much).

Social media is going great, in order to make a living, we’re forced to make our own free commercials for the things we’re making until the most of what we’re making is the commercials.

Whoever coined it "slop" got it dead to rights. It covers so many bases; it LOOKS like slop, it's MADE like slop and ultimately it's meant to be CONSUMED like slop. Just a bunch of scraps and pieces mulled together to form tasteless filler to feed hogs. The KFC Famous Bowl of visual content.

If anything, moving right now in the midst of an insane period might just give me the incentive to stop buying useless dust collecting crap. So many figures n toys and plushes and statues and books n historical pieces... it's way too much. I might just have to sell a bunch of it once I settle in.

Oh fuck you Wacom, just fuck you. I've had this thing for less than a decade and now, even if I try to install older drivers, it just won't work. This fucking blows. Any recs for good alternatives?

The worst part about moving out of an apartment at this time of year is that while you have so much stuff to toss out, the neighbors in your complex won’t even have the common courtesy to break down their cardboard boxes from the holidays, so the dumpster will be full mere hours after being emptied.

I set up and ran the animation smear tumblr for years. Made thousands of posts, had 250k+ followers, studios/shows apparently used it for reference for their own smears, then I got enough death threats and people annoying me over cartoons that I just let it sort of gather dust n' fade away.

When I first moved to LA working at ShadowMachine, I met Guillermo Del Toro while he was in the midst of pitching his Pinocchio film, but at the time I had absolutely no idea who he was. I hadn't seen any of his movies or anything. Met him at the Annies much later and he was just as nice.

I've been yearning to work on my new film for ages, but between moving house n other things I haven't had the time or energy to do it. If anything, it's the only thing that I'm remotely excited for in 2026, just focusing on animating and drawing again and setting up a crowdfund to do so.

Yesterday I had my first bath in my new tub and I literally fell asleep in it. Haven’t had a proper soaking bath since I was small enough to comfortably fit n be submerged in a tub, and it was glorious. First time using a bathbomb too. I can def see the appeal. Can’t wait to make it a regular thing.
