Raising money for humanitarian aid for Ukraine.
Well, that's my last 5pm finish until mid-February. Although the pelting rain and heavy clouds wouldn't have helped light levels any.

There's a nice, autumnal view over the Mawddach estuary to Mawddach Crescent, before it rained.

The sun finally came out (although the rain didn't quite stop) just as I was, coldly and damply, putting my gear away and struggling out of my soggy waterproofs. The second photograph is of this morning's, somewhat obscured, view.

A kestrel hovering and effortlessly gliding in today's strong and bitterly cold wind. Amazing creature.

Helo, Lerpwl. Neis i weld chi.

I picked up a peace poppy from the marvellous @nfnbooks

It seems that far too many people in the world have forgotten the horrors of warfare and violence.

Could be honeycomb...
Twenty years since the release of this amazing album that reignited, reaffirmed and made inviolable my love of Kate Bush.

Beaver Supermoon seen through hazy clouds and the bathroom window this morning.

More autumnal loveliness.

A Mahonia really going for it on a very mild November afternoon, just before I got soaked.

It was such a changeable day, there was even sunshine (what!) this afternoon.

A wood sorrel (Oxalis) flower in the low autumn afternoon sun.

Ominous clouds over Cadair Idris as my bear basked in the sunshine.

An apt time of year to find a witches' broom in the diminishing leaves of a birch tree.

It was a very soggy morning. There I am, all soggy. This afternoon was better.

My favourite type of lasagne, bulb lasagne! (sorry the Crocus layer is blurry. I didn't notice when I took it and the difficulty of getting my phone out with my soggy hands and soggy waterproofs precluded taking many snaps.)

Gorgeous autumn colours under slightly less inviting skies. At least it didn't rain much!

There was still much buzzing around the magical towers of Fatsia flowers. They seem to be in some state of flowering and fruiting all year round.

A diverse collection of friends today. The ubiquitous robin, and some very fine and inquisitive pigs! Until they realised that eating was more interesting than I was.

Brr, the wind was nippy today. I was all swaddled up like a toddler. The only thing missing was a string across my back, tying my gloves together.

Planting more garlic today, which is always fun.

I do appreciate the extended lie in afforded by the end of British Summer Time, but it sure is dark early. Especially on a gloomy old day like this has been.

Barberries, of Berberis thunbergii, glistening in today's rain. Like little jewels.

The Caerphilly result is what we need to see everywhere at the next election: people coordinating to vote tactically for parties which seek a fairer, kinder, greener country.
Pushing out both those who have betrayed our trust AND those who seek to exploit that betrayal.

Some beautiful autumn colours in Dolgellau this morning, before the rains came. Including this very striking Liriodendron tulipifera (Tulip tree).

A changeable day. I got soaked, then dry again, then soaked again. May storm Benjamin be kind to us all.

What's in the pot!

Using up the last of the homegrown tomatoes and not nearly the last of the local apples. It's a variation on the infinitely mutable seasonal chutney recipe from the River Cottage preserves handbook, or 'glutney', as it's otherwise known.
