Over the past two weeks, I have played more than 120 Steam demos for recently released and upcoming games. Here's a thread showcasing some of my favorites in no particular order, with links to their Steam and Bluesky pages (if I could track one down) so you can try them out for yourself:

I put off playing this game for way too long, but it ended up being the perfect way to spend a not-so-scary Halloween night (yes I know I'm posting this in like mid-November, I'm slow, don't judge me).

I just beat My Friendly Neighborhood a few days ago and wanted to mess around with some of the cheats I'd unlocked during my run. Turns out starting a new game with cheats doesn't disable achievements, and accidentally triggering the ending unlocked three achievements in the funniest order possible.

New favorite mall activity: find pop culture stores with a graphic tee display, look for stacks of any shirt with someone's face on them, and fold the top of the stack in such a way that it deletes their nose.

Summoner is the best class in Terraria. You get to spawn a bunch of little goobers to fight for you while you smack enemies from a distance with a whip that annoys every player of the vicinity with the sound it makes. I will not stop playing this class in every run of this game.

Okay so life got in the way and I was VERY late to finishing this write-up, but it's here now. This was at the top of my most anticipated games list ever since I played one of its old demos a few years back, and I'm so glad I finally got to experience the full thing.

This game popped up in my Discovery Queue. I know train games are notorious for their ridiculous pricing and DLC practices that put EA's treatment of The Sims to shame, but having four different editions and over $3,000 in DLC when it's not even out for another month still took me by surprise.

Bilkins' was by far my #1 game of 2023, and is probably one of my favorite puzzle games in general. Clever, charming, criminally underrated, and an absolute steal at this price.

Sometimes the pursuit of completing games requires me to do terrible, terrible things (this dialogue option was tied to an achievement because @miscatinytale.bsky.social is EVIL).

You'd best believe I reloaded my save file so he could go right back to happy dancing.

Huge thanks to @flebpuzzles.bsky.social for the early review copy. My only "complaint" with his last game 20 Small Mazes (which you should also play, it's free) was that I wished I had more puzzles with that same level of creativity, and playing through Strange Jigsaws finally scratched that itch.
