#EdTechGZ was such a great day. I’m impressed at how big it has become. I felt odd being on the attendee side of things instead of the planning side, but it was really great to see some amazing presentations and make some new connections. Leaving China full of bbq, knowledge and inspiration.

At #EdTechGZ I shared how Chadwick “makes making matter” by having maker classes part of r 8-day cycle. I shared how we integrate r projects with UoIs, challenges we hv and r ideas 4 the future. It ws nice 2 share something Im passionate abt with ppl I “know” on socials and some new faces as well.

I am so proud of my G5 Vex IQ teams now that we are a few days post-comp. Planning, drawing diagrams, comparing new strategies, gaining inspiration from robots we saw at the competition, and ripping their bots apart to get them ready for a new iteration. The design cycle at its best.

Had a great day at my (and their) first VEX IQ competition here in Songdo with some G5s! So much learning happened- time management, battery management, teamwork and strategizing with strangers, fixing problems, taking time to be active for our mental health and clarity; and cleaning up the mess!

Today was Chadwick’s Grade 1 Celebration of Learning! We connected w their UoI any communities. Sts constructed buildings in r town and learned about interconnectedness and interdependence. They learned all about cardboard cutting and construction, and they tackled the tacky glue as well!

First snow of the season! What a beautiful day. 🥰 Recess duty was amazing, and one student from East Timor was just buzzing, seeing her first snow ever. 🤩

It’s handwarmer season in Korea. One use HWs are terrible for the environment. So CI g2 is designing reusable HWs to give away! Gotta cover them in inspirational messages with our jazzy new fabric markers first. Next week- we teach 120 8 year olds how to use a sewing machine. Thoughts and prayers. 😂

My fellow elementary design Ts and I visited Branksome Hall Asia this weekend. We hung out in their various design spaces in lower and upper school and even sat in on a g1 class. I love seeing what others do, design geek chat, getting inspired, and learning about how much we have in common. ❤️🤩

Chadwick had a visit from Kath Murdoch this week to work w ES specialists. Her grounding workshop helped me feel valued and validated in my work and my makerspace connections to units of inquiry. It was such an honor to have her come in and praise our awesome space and what we do! 🥰
