Everyday it's been something new, frightening, & rediculos. Take a calendar, look back day by day since Jan 20 & remember what the crisis was on that day. Often it's difficult to remember each day. Now look ahead on that calendar towards all the upcoming, yet unrealized crises.
I read this book when it 1st came out in paperback. 'How could people live while knowing this is going on?', was my constant thought. I vacilated between empathy and hatred (I ended up here), for the ordinary people. This is a good & now tough read.

Is it just me or is society in general more quick to anger when trump is in the white house? I felt it the 1st time too. We all just become more rabid & feral versions of ourselves. The quick to hate, & stubbornness to keep hating; the inability to reason & consider... Just me?

I think that I need to go sign up for Twitter again. It seems to me that the Bluesky posts that get the most attention are reposted screenshots from Twitter.

Also in the bill are work requirements for those collecting SNAP. It MAY be possible for a work requirement to be satisfied by an adult living in the home. BUT, this puts single parent households at an extreme disadvantage! Single parents, tend to be women, it's a direct affront to women.

I forgot the Democratic Senator's name that was just speaking to the point that - Republicans are denying that the bill will raise the deficit by trillions. He read directly from the bill that instructed the budget office to increase the debt ceiling by five trillion. Hmmmm.

A provision still exists in this bill that, courts may not “enforce a contempt citation for failure to comply with an injunction or temporary restraining order”? There's not much else stopping trump from defying court orders as it is. This would make him a literal king. That needs more attention.

This is confusing. It appears that the Senate can ignore the Parliamentarian's rulings (which is actually, advice). This is still not over. Nothing that was reported that the Senate Parliamentarian removed, has actually been removed until the final vote on the bill.
Ok then: "The Senate parliamentarian has ruled against a controversial provision in the Senate Republicans’ megabill that would have made it significantly more difficult for courts to enforce contempt findings against the Trump administration."

I won't see the other side of this mess. I'm really hoping my kids do OK.
This country is thoroughly screwed for at least a generation. People haven't taken stock of how much damage has already been done. 2026 and 2028 won't magically fix this. It's going to be a long walk.

I feel as if the Kraken has been released in regards to my posting. I have been told, that this will get me in hot water with my MAGA family. But we're at such a dangerous precipice, I can't stand still. w/out a 'dislike' function on Bsky, I'll take a serious lack of likes as a voice to STFU.
