Grateful to have a wonderful fiancé, four amazing animals, and two jobs: One as a church musician, and another as a phlebotomist for a plasma donation center.
Found a nice new flannel shirt at Marshall's recently! I suddenly have the urge to trade my car in for a Subaru, and shop at Home Depot.

I captured some pictures of our precious kitten this morning. She has become quite the lap kitty! The collar, which she got only a few days ago, was way too cute to pass up, and the bell on it helps us keep track of her. 😸 She's getting bigger, too! She can no longer fit into the palm of our hands.

We continued a tradition for my birthday: We went to the "alphabet" store, and Robert let me (within reason) go a bit wild. I got this beautiful card from him, also! And, only about three more months until I can indulge (responsibly) again post-bariatric surgery.

I enjoyed anther wonderful birthday celebration today - this time from the wonderful staff of Green Acres! I was given a gift card from Kohl's, and this birthday card. It's as if they know me or something! 🙃🤣

Thank you very much, Green Acres Presbyterian Church, for making me feel special on my birthday! This year, my birthday not only fell on the Day of Pentecost (one of my favorite Sundays of the church year), but the liturgical color is red, which is my favorite color! It has been a great day so far.

Once again, Misty worked her magic on my hair! Grateful for expertise, and helping me look presentable!

We had an amazing time at the symphony this evening! The entire program was Mahler's Symphony No. 9, which is considered by many to be one of the best symphonies. They had us right on the edge of our seats from start to end, with the musicality, and wide range of dynamics. Bravo, Virginia Symphony!

I know we're in for an amazing evening of music! When it comes to polyphonic choral music, it doesn't get any better than The Tallis Scholars.

At the vet for Elijah and Templeton's annual wellness check. It looks like the bill shouldn't be too painful today, and after the trauma of being put into carriers, they both managed to calm down, and presented the perfect photo opportunity!

Cody was quite worn out after I took him and his sister on a good walk earlier. Anyone who knows dalmatians knows how hard it is to make them tired! Even at 8 1/2 years old, he's still full of spunk.

Feeling VERY thankful for the salmon filets Robert prepared this evening for me! As is evident in the picture, they smelled quite good. They were prepared on the stove, with some cajun seasoning. I was only able to have 1.5 oz. of it, as per my still strict, post-surgery diet, but yay for leftovers!

I completed my first platelet donation for 2025 earlier today, with the American Red Cross. It was the first one since I had gastric sleeve surgery, so I was praying it would go well - and I'm happy to say it did! #yay #savinglives #platelets #helpingcancerpatients

One month ago today, I had gastric sleeve surgery, in an effort to get a handle on my weight. I had spiked to about 280 pounds. I'm happy to say that I've lost about 35 pounds in that amount of time, and certainly feel a lot better! The goal is 180, so I'm about a third of the way there!

Tonight's Ash Wednesday service at Green Acres was canceled, due to the storms this afternoon. Somehow, I didn't receive the email, so I came to the church - but luckily, I still got my ash on, so my day is complete! #rememberyouaredust #ashwednesday #fortydays #feelingpenitentialandstuff #Lent

Are these the two most precious kitties in the world - or are these the two most precious kitties in the world?

Cody and Tasha don't get to experience snow often, but I think it's safe to say they enjoyed themselves today!
