Let's try to postpone at least one concurrent part of our self-inflicted meta crisis by a bit, shall we?

2) That those researchers are giving up millions to do this indicates a rising level of discomfort with OpenAI/Meta/Google/etc's moral standing

Book #9 is Hanzi Freinacht's "Nordic ideology." So far, it's as brilliant as the first one. This stuff should be studied in schools instead of obsessing over old stuff. We need to discuss the global future and how we want it to be, not the past, through a tiny identitarian lens.

The sandman series was great! I love the whole atmosphere and pace of it, it's different than anything else. The main actor is great, and the soundtrack is perfect. Now I want to read the comics, but I don't also don't feel like donating to Gaiman 🤔

I'm in the process of decreasing my reliance on big tech, so I already switched to proton mail, ente for photos, but wasn't sure what to do with audible. It seems libro.fm is a worthy replacement, a B Corp helping out small bookstores.

Look, it was even written in the rulebook: "But in the cities of these peoples that the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, you shall save alive nothing that breathes, but you shall devote them to complete destruction...". So, just following orders, all good then.💩

Aside from the Bible's historical and cultural value, it's incredible that people still see a 2000 year old text as something they need to constantly negotiate with in order to approach our current world. As if that was the pinnacle of human enlightenment, with no more room for learning. Move on.

In his book about metamodern politics, Hanzi Freinacht says that a metamodern should embrace dialogue with people from all cognitive complexity and symbolic stages. In principle, I agree, but how does one do that with people who support blatant injustice, discrimination, or even genocide? Not sure.

In the environment conscious part of bluesky, there's a justified acrimony towards crypto. That's fair, but I'd like to point out there's plenty of virtuous blockchain related regenerative finance projects: Grassroots economics, greenpill, and gainforest are examples, there's many more.
