In 2024, the Department of Education catastrophically rejected Lords' call to scrap the EBacc

While this ignored a wealth of evidence highlighting the damage to music education, the ISM has continued our hard campaigning to defend music in UK schools ⬇️

Music for All sends huge congratulations to Sam Fender, winner of the 2025 Mercury Prize ‘Album of the Year’ with his album People Watching!

The title track is inspired by the loss of a close friend of Sam’s, an amazing example of how music can express difficult emotions .

“Thank you so much for giving music back to me”

After losing everything, Music for All was able to get John a new guitar and amp and make music a part of his life again. He’s reconnected with bandmates and has been writing and recording again.

We’re proud to support Include Choir's powerful work bringing communities together through song. With our grant, they’re increasing ethnic diversity in their music by sharing African chants and South Asian percussion, which were co-created with people with learning disabilities and autism.
