Yes, history swings like a pendulum—but that doesn’t mean you lie down and wait for it to swing back. If you’re not using your voice now, you’re going to lose it. And when you do, you’ll realize far too late what it meant to be able to speak at all.

Just here to remind everyone that most Pediatric hospice care is largely paid for by Medicaid. Feel free to remind your MAGA friends what they are cheering on…

This bill makes me absolutely sick to my stomach. Firstly, there are no “furries” in schools. They are thinking of “therians”. Regardless, my own daughter owns a tail and cat ears. If passed she could be suspended or sent to an “alternative education program” if she wears them at school.
Author of Texas bill to ban 'furries' in schools cannot come up with examples of it happening

Yes, the stock market may be tanking and our national security apparatus has never been more vulnerable and we're on the verge of both economic collapse and war, but it was all worth it to keep pronouns out of email signatures.

Uhg. Well, I at least smell a lawsuit. I doubt this will be implemented next school year but the question still remains. Wtf are we wasting our time on in Texas?

In honor of Black History Month I’ll be sharing some of my favorite “I didn’t know that” stories. This first one I had no clue about until I stumbled upon it last year. Please enjoy this read on what Central Park used to be.

If you are a parent of a k-12 child I implore you to head over to the Smithsonian’s (and NPS’s) educator resources link and start downloading anything that this administration thinks constitutes as “dei related curriculum”. These are amazing supplements to public school. www.si.edu/educators/so...

The VAs DEI page is officially down. Turns out, DEI doesn’t just include people with a different skin color or gender. But don’t take my word for it

My mind is stuck here, couldn’t have said it better.
It's fun to be living in a moment when it seems like we are about to enter an era of terrifying authoritarianism OR an era of authoritarian overreach that immediately crumbles and gives way to something better, and these two things might happen simultaneously, and we won't know for sure for A BIT.

Ok trying not to be a conspiracy theorist but WHY are the news stations reporting a different alert than what I got? Specifically leaving a certain part out … 🤔

Because the BEST way to close achievement gaps isn’t with extra funding for public schools and teachers, it’s getting rid of DE&I initiatives and offices. You will see this on a national level soon as it’s spreading like a virus.

After a series of insanely unpopular decisions that left staff and faculty reeling, Hartzell is moving to a private Texas university. Don’t worry though, the new prez will be placed by the same Greg Abbott appointed board of regents that put Hartzell in.
