#Gibraltar - 27/01 - a wild and stormy day thanks to #StormJoseph with heavy rain and Gale force Southwest or Westerly winds gusting to 83km/h at the Airport - leading to dangerous conditions around the Rock with flying debris, also some diverted planes and water devils galore. Max 16.9C.

#Gibraltar - latest radar at 2pm, 27/01 - shows the back edge of the cold front nearing, with a switch to more showery conditions expected to follow once it clears - winds have now veered more Westerly.

#Gibraltar- another great video from MeteoGib follower Christian Ferrary of those water devils E side - 27/01 - generated by the descending rotors/ severe turbulence on the waters - at 1:30pm, highest gust still 42kts or 78km/h, but likely much higher in exposed places, around 10-17mm of rain so far

🔺️As we mentioned in our forecast for tonight, re a second spell of Gales/ Severe Gales returning for Wednesday - another GoG Severe Warning of Severe Gales has now been issued valid 10am to 1pm Wednesday 28th.

#Gibraltar - latest radar at 11:15am, 27/01 - shows the cold front/ heaviest rain still lying just West of the Strait - rain so far around 9mm - highest gusts seen so far to 42kt or 78km/h but in the local area, 52kts or 96km/h (just to severe Gale) reported over at Algeciras Pilots.

#Gibraltar - 27/01 - very poor out there now with winds blowing up to Gale force - generating significant water devils (sometimes called waterspouts) over the East side where descending rotors are causing severe turbulence on the water - great footage from follower Melanie Avellano.

#Iberia temps at 7am, 27/01 - coldest to the N but esp NE where perhaps a risk of some isolated frost, with Benasque just below 1C, Pajares 1C and Tavescan & Bielsa 2C, in contrast to a much milder night towards the S, also parts of the N coast, warmest Cieza 17C and Bilbao 18C.

#Gibraltar - 6am, 27/01 - it's been a mostly cloudy night with further showery outbreaks of rain, and some heavier bursts, but that cold front/ wall of water approaching to our NW - some squally winds too gusting up to 37-41kts (69-76km/h) - the temp is 14C with humidity at 93%.

#Gibraltar - 26/01 - mostly cloudy with some showery outbreaks of rain at times through the day, and a fresh or strong and blustery West or West-Southwesterly. A touch milder than recent days with Max 17.4C, although it might not have felt it in the breeze.

As mentioned this morning, we understood Met Office forecasters had announced that there was a Weather Advisory issued for tonight (from 4am Tues) - @ 1:30pm, nothing has been published on social media platforms so unfortunately we are unable to pass on any more details for now.

#Gibraltar #Midtown - 26/01 - it was a cloudy, blustery and wet start to the day with further showers affecting the Rock, but having eased through the morning/ for now - at midday, the temperature has reached 17C, in a fresh Westerly, blowing stronger south towards Europa Point.

As MeteoGib had been flagging up over the last few days, re some Gale force winds to come - we understand that a Weather Advisory for Gale force winds has now been issued by the Met Office, valid from 4am, Tues 27th Jan.

When we get full details we will post a further update.
