Just that typical gender non-conforming long-bearded autistic queer dude yelling at clouds (and cloud providers) that has everything and nothing figured out all at the same time.
I don't agree with any of your opinions.

Pinned
well it wasn't the last year anymore and I did get a job last december so I guess I should pin this instead
Hi, I'm metame(eee). Most people online just call me meta.

A few things I live streamed in the last year:
* 12 languages in 4 weeks (from C to Idris)
* Rust Data Structures & Algorithms
* Building MVCC in OCaml

I've had a Clojure job for the last 5 years and am currently looking for my next gig!

Turns out you can communicate across containers via 63-bits of available space in a shared lock you acquire on /proc/self/ns/time that all processes have access to.

No networking required. The post has a demo of a chat app communicating across unprivileged containers.

My first advice to junior contributors is to STOP using vibe coding for PRs. OSS is always about people more than about code. We don't need more code generated by LLM, we need more people who care.

my teenager wants her "next gf to not text, only call her" and "instead of asking for pics, they have to take me on a date to see me" and it's pretty darn wholesome (we'll see what she says tomorrow)

This kind of thing makes the software internals discord jobs channel unparalleled for systems software jobs.

PhD student posts a cool and relevant job at a public database company he has no connection to, the hiring manager / director of engineering pops in to say its his team.

After a mth off, I unpinned algorithmic feeds. I don't need the temptation. I like checking my Following about 2x a day and I follow few enough people that I see every single post usually. Back to being a calm place (for now)
tbh my circles are chill, but wow some of these reposts and if I click on any algorithmic feed at all...

Anyone FE-oriented, UX heavy (like we use react but it's not that complex, we'd rather you "know" react a bit and be really good at UI/UX) out there looking for a job?

FT, US-based preferred but there could be options for intl contract

It's fully remote and nice people, I can DM/signal w/deets
