Reading "A History of the Bible: The Book and its Faiths" by John Barton. As someone with a degree in (medieval) literature, my urge to shake the book at people and go "DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT THIS ACTUALLY IS?" in terms of it being a compilation text drawing on centuries of sources is strong
