Genuinely my experience with KOTOR 2 so far is "there's some interesting concepts here" and then Avellone just does something boring/uninspired with em, retreads stuff KOTOR did better or tries some pseudo-intellectual shit that just doesn't land.

If the new Battlefront 2 was worth it for offline i'd so grab it on PC for mods. Really shows the difference in the two. One has full on new character mods while the other is all glorified skins so as not to get banned from the game's servers.
