I wrote about how Trump's attacks on public education will disempower parents, especially in rural and working-class communities—for @msmagazine.com

My health insurance is denying coverage for a colonoscopy because I'm not 45 yet. Even though I’ve been dealing with immune system issues for months. And my liver enzymes are elevated. And my uncle had colon cancer. And rates of colorectal cancer are rising rapidly among young people.
You know it’s bad when a college-educated white dude gets denied
My journey to getting my first colonoscopy. Or, not getting it.

The profit machine that is private health insurance impacts all of us who aren’t filthy rich, even white men like me.

You have voters screaming - we want leaders who actually are for working people & will tell billionaires to fuck off & pass policies to raise wages, fortify unions, improve care, etc.
But consultants saying - just shit talk immigrants & trans folks.
Guess which answer centre-left parties favour?

The agencies have at least 32 continuing investigations, pending complaints, or enforcement actions into Musk’s six companies.

The top two stories on Axios right now make kind of a funny juxtaposition. One is about how Johnson can’t avoid a shutdown without Democratic votes. Two is about how mad Dem reps are at their constituents for telling them to do something, when they’re in the minority and obviously can’t do anything.

Some people say we need a "left-wing Joe Rogan." I don't think we do. But I do think the left needs to focus more on interrogating so-called "traditional masculinity." We need to counter the right-wing narrative about what "real men" are. My newsletter aims to do that: makemenemotionalagain.com

So, when people tell you that universal healthcare is bad because you have terrible waits for doctors and procedures? This is what insurance that costs $18,000/year and has a $3,500 deductible gets.
