Performance and Protest explores Inuit resilience at the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition. Forced to play a role popularized by early Arctic explorers, Inuit from Labrador took their employers to court, challenging stereotypes in a landmark case.

In the fall of 1892, sixty Inuit from coastal Labrador were recruited for an ethnological exhibit at the World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago. Performance and Protest documents their trials, challenges, and resilience.
