Did you know VSED (Voluntarily Stopping Eating and Drinking) is legal in all 50 states to hasten death for people who are suffering degenerative illnesses? It requires planning and a proper team in place to do it right. I highly recommend resources such as The VSED Handbook and @vsed.resources #used

I love to see a family get closure. 🖤
Nearly seven decades after a British researcher plummeted to his death in a glacial crevasse off Antarctica, his remains have been identified and returned to his family, the British Antarctic Survey announced on Monday.
Remains of British Researcher Lost in 1959 Are Discovered Off Antarctica
Dennis “Tink” Bell was 25 years old when he fell into a crevasse on King George Island. Over the decades, a glacier receded, and a scientific team from Poland found his remains this year.

What a heartbreakingly beautiful memorial and legacy and I am warmed to see their dog was included. But I cannot believe that a sitting president would not show up and offer condolences to children who lost both of their parents and their dog to a MAGA madman. It’s so dark. We need light. 💔 #hortman
Minnesota State Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, were remembered at their funeral on Saturday as “extraordinary public servants” who were killed in an inexplicable act of political violence. Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota delivered the eulogy.

Melissa Hortman was eulogized by Gov. Tim Walz as a compassionate leader in a service that former President Biden and former Vice President Harris also attended.

“Art has to do with our limitations, our frailties, and our faults as human beings,” the musician Nick Cave says. “That’s what is so awesome about art: that we deeply flawed creatures can sometimes do extraordinary things.”

Great piece by @sunitapurimd @nytimes Why wait until we are dying to live our lives the way we wish we had? No bucket list, how about taking stock of your life and being able to fully live it and appreciate it? I am here for anyone wishing to do a #lifereview at any stage of life.

How do you feel about the new frontier of AI for grief? Is it too Black Mirror or comforting? Check out @nytimes article about StoryFile, where you can prerecord a loved one to talk to beyond the grave. #grieftech

The Coin by Yasmin Zaher was ever the wildest ride and simply masterful. I breezed through this bonkers and wildly original debut novel from a new Palestinian author about a Palestinian woman in NYC losing her grip on reality as she loses her place in the world.

Poker Face S2 Ep2 does a great job showing fun things you can do with cremated remains. I find that casually mentioning cool new things you can do with cremains is a good way to get people thinking about their death plan. And yes, you can get a record pressed with cremated remains from @andvinyly 💀🎶

Has anyone been watching this chilling @hbomax documentary series The Mortician about a bad actor in the funeral industry? Unreal. I fully vet all disposition options for my clients and give a full range of options. Death doulas are a great additional layer of support in these stressful times! 🖤

Screw Cancer Becoming Whole by Molly Kochan - After raving about the FX Hulu show Dying for Sex, I went straight to the podcast and memoir. Molly wrote this from her hospice bed. She inspires with raw honesty. Molly died on Mar 8th, 2019 in the same bed she wrote this. I can help with legacy work.🖤

AAPI read Tomb Sweeping: Stories by Alexandra Chang Title story Tomb Sweeping about a family in Singapore on Qingming/Tomb Sweeping Day. Love the collective humanity honoring your ancestors yearly. Wish we didn’t grieve solo in the US, it’s healthier to bring death out in the open. 🖤 #tombsweeping

Happy Mother’s Day to everyone who mothers! This day can be hard for many people and I love this sweet little graphic novel a mother wrote and her daughter illustrated—What to do When I’m Gone A Mother’s Wisdom to Her Daughter by Suzy Hopkins and Hallie Bateman 💗

Love Dying For Sex @hulu based on podcast of convos btwn Molly and best friend about her end-of-life sexcapades. She leaves her hubby after terminal cancer diagnosis, spending her last days exploring her sexuality. Dark, funny, sad, sweet, shocking, messy, beautiful and full of life. 🖤 #dyingforsex

Passion Project by London Sperry - ROMCOMS not my thing but this one’s for a friend who died. The banter between a grieving woman and a guy trying to get her out of her depression was so touching. The Passion Project is about finding joy. Jen would have loved it. I miss her and her zest for life. ❤️

Death Valley by Melissa Broder - a wild, surreal ride through one woman’s anticipatory grief for her father. As she wanders the desert alone to center herself and gets lost, some very trippy hallucinations happen. Weird, funny and wholly original. Loved it. 🖤

Wild Dark Shore by Charlotte McConaghy - I cried at the end of this beautiful book which was touted an eco-thriller. It was that, but also filled with love, grief and hope. Loss of loved ones, loss of place, loss of ecosystems, loss of life from the natural world and fighting for it.
